I'm Dara (Dare-ah) Woo, a backend software engineer at Lyft based out of New York City.
Although I currently live in NYC, I grew up in the Silicon Valley and spent my college years in Ann Arbor,
MI where I attained my B.S. in Computer Science from University of Michigan.
While at U of M, I was a software engineering intern at Lyft, Salesforce, Disney, and EA (Electronic Arts).
Because of these internships, I learned what it was like to work at business to consumer (B2C), business to business (B2B), entertainment, and gaming companies.
In my current role, I spend my days as a backend product software engineer coding mostly in Python.
Most importantly, I am a fierce promoter of youth computer science education and women in tech.
Consequently, I was the President and Founder of igniteCS (a University of Michigan club that teaches basic programming concepts to Detroit/Ann Arbor based students).
I've taught non-profit programming classes for over 5 years in Southeast Michigan and the Silicon Valley.
Additionally, I was the Head of Marketing/Internal Relations at GEECS (Girls in EECS, a University of Michigan club with over 100 active members).
